Halloween is the one night of the year when dressing up, dimming the lights and pretending to be someone dangerous is not only allowed but expected. So here is a suggestion for after the trick-or-treaters have gone home: a board game for two where the vampire feeds, the hunter hunts, and every square you land on costs somebody a kiss or lick.
Fangs & Hearts is our vampire role play game for couples, rebuilt this year for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. If you remember it as Suck! Me, this is the same game grown up: all-new artwork, three editions, and a board that keeps the two of you touching from the first roll.

How a Night Goes
One of you is the vampire lord or queen, the other is the hunter, and by the end of the game you will both have been each. You roll two dice and chase each other around a fog-bound board. Land on an empty square and it is yours, and you claim your prize from your partner with a kiss or a lick wherever skin is showing. Land on theirs and the hunters take it, so you kiss and celebrate. Catch your partner on the same square and they lose an item of clothing before fleeing home.
Some squares hold a Fang card or a Heart card: a vampire’s challenge or a hunter’s, read from a parchment scroll. Roll two numbers and a Perform or Pay activity appears, one of hundreds, rising in heat from Warm & Loving to Taboo as your blood meters fill. Roll two words instead and the dice themselves tell you what to do and where, with a timer that counts down on a quickening heartbeat if you want one.
Then there are the corners. Walk into your own lair and you spring your trap. Walk into your partner’s and you are the prey: they perform on you, and the blood is theirs. The Church makes you the hunter. The Tomb catches you among the graves. Nobody’s turn is ever just a move.

Fill your Fang meter and you rule the night as the vampire – oral sex is your reward. Fill your Heart meter and the hunters win “normal” sex. Either way, the winner chooses how the evening ends, and the game makes sure it ends: first meter filled, done. Play it brisk, or linger over every challenge for as long as you like.
Written for You, Whoever You Are
Fangs & Hearts comes in three editions, Straight, Lesbian and Gay, and each one has its own cards and its own activities, written for that pairing rather than run through a find-and-replace. Choose yours in Settings and the game sets both players up to match: titles, faces for your tokens, everything. Over 1,200 challenges in all, and the game remembers which ones you have seen so that night two does not repeat night one.
You Set the Heat
Everything in the game is a suggestion. Perform it, adapt it, pretend, or pass. Every card and activity ends with the two of you deciding who earned the blood: a reward, a penalty, or call it even. There is an intensity ceiling so nothing stronger than you want ever comes up, and anal play, stripping and drinking can each be kept out of the evening altogether. The drinks, by the way, are whatever you like; red wine makes good pretend blood, but so does cherry or pomegranate juice.
Made for the Bedroom
This is a game you play in bed, so it is built for hands that are busy. Every move is one tap. The word dice and the touch prompts are read aloud so nobody has to look at the screen at the wrong moment. Your game saves itself the second you put the device down, and picks up exactly where you stopped, even if that is tomorrow. On Apple TV the board sits in the middle of the big screen with each player’s blood meter on their own side, and the remote does the rest.

Set the Scene
- Candles, and only the low-temperature kind if wax is on the menu.
- Something red in two glasses.
- A few favourite toys within reach. The game calls them stakes, sceptres and holy oil; you will know what it means.
- Costumes optional. There are stripping prompts, so start dressed if you want them to mean something.
- A wet cloth by the bed. Trust us.
Private, and Yours
No accounts, no ads, no tracking, and the app never connects to the internet. Your game and your settings live on your device and nowhere else. It is rated 18+, and it is for the two of you.
One purchase, all three devices. Full rules and every bonus item are here.
